Welcome to the EPWP 2 Beneficiaries System
The Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) is one of government's array of programmes aimed at providing poverty and income relief through temporary work for the unemployed to carry out socially useful activities.
EPWP phase 2 was launched in April 2009 at the University of the Western Cape. The goal of phase 2 is to create 2 million full time equivalent (FTE) jobs for poor and unemployed people in South Africa, so as to contribute to halving unemployment by 2014 through the delivery of public and community services.
Municipalities and provinces are required to report on EPWP key indicators to the Department of Public Works (DPW) and Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CGTA) via monitoring systems that were put in place by these government departments.
The Shisaka Kwantu EPWP2 Beneficiaries System provides the ability to track progress with EPWP projects and beneficiaries and assists in managing EPWP projects.
